Top 100 Ethnic Minority Future Leaders 2021 List

In May 2021, I was included in the Empower 100 Ethnic Minority Future Leaders 2021; I can't express how unbelievably happy I am to be part of such a prestigious list.

In the context of racial inequalities, black lives matter, breach of access in the workplace, the top of the corporate world, access to education, representation of a diverse race and colors, also gender, to be included in this list, and this context is an unbelievable honor.

Although companies are starting to pay more attention to the importance of ethnic, color, and other minorities' representation, there is still a long way to go. Still, I believe this is an excellent place to start.

This list was created by an organization that highlights and works towards a more diverse and representative workplace; the organization is called INVolve. The list counts with the support of a significant global financial media network, Yahoo Finance UK.

Congratulations to everyone that is part of this prestigious list. The judging panel for this year includes, amongst others, the former head of Yahoo Finance UK and the current director of creative content development for Yahoo, Liamma Brinded.

I am incredibly humbled to be nominated on this list, as many of the fellows featured in this list; working towards a more diverse and representative workplace is an imperative strategy that needs to move forward now.

I am incredibly humbled because I am the first Colombian ever to be included in this list, but also I am the only Colombian included in this list edition (2021). I am delighted, and I hope that teenagers, university students, and recent graduates in Colombia and everywhere else see this list as an inspiration to work towards what makes them happy and somehow see the people in this list as someone they can identify and relate to.

The Founder and CEO of Involve, Suki Sandhu OBE, which is also part of the judging panel, said, "I'm thrilled to be celebrating another incredible group of Ethnic Minority and Advocate Role Models who are championing inclusion and inspiring the next generation of talent. Discrimination and barriers to success are still prevalent for ethnic minority groups, and Role Models are essential to change perceptions and show everyone that you can be successful in business while also being your authentic self at work".
